After the storming start to our Championships I thought it would be good to focus on talking g about the Team… this year we have a party of 8, 7 pilots, Team manager and a helper.
This inevitably means that each and all have to put in double or even triple shifts to allow the team to function. Assisting the 3 pilots for their 7 flights which start at 5-30am with contest starting at 8am, packing up after 8pm.
Retrieving the free flight models on foot which are commonly a kilometre from launch but can be far further. Models are then returned to the pilots for their next round 70mins from the start of the previous. Important to add in the arid dusty conditions as well as the heat 32-36 degrees.
All in all it’s near impossible without the team, so I’m thanking them all again before exhaustion kicks in.
To the flying F1B day John, Pete and Peter all put in a solid performance on another very testing day, air conditions were more than tricky with wind shifts and sometimes extreme thermal activity.
From over 120 competitors only 30 made a clean 7 flights and the fly off , John Carter being our sole pilot reaching the fly off with an impressive set of 7 flights. Peter Brown dropped a few seconds and Pete had a couple of flights under the maximum.
John Carter had a solid Flyoff flight and we believe finished midway in the pile of 30.. another great team performance… we also should add that the organisation has been superb!.. credit to the organisers and Romanian Federation.
