First stop this morning was to the airfield where we had our ‘official’ practise flights before going through model processing.  This all went smoothly and while the team headed to the practice site, Ray and I went off to buy lunch and drinks (water) for everyone.  In this heat (around 30˚C) it’s important for everyone to keep hydrated.

By 3.30pm it was time to head back to the airfield for the opening ceremony.  This was a very low key affair and once the speeches were out of the way together with the Romanian national anthem and FAI anthem it was time to head back to the practice field.  I attended the Team Managers’ meeting at 6pm and got our flying order for the 4 preliminary rounds – Sets and Freestyle tomorrow with Sets and Music on Wednesday.  Adam, as a WChs rookie was asked to the do the calibration flight for Sets tomorrow which he was happy to agree to.  This means that Adam and I need to be back at the airfield for 8.40 tomorrow morning ready to do the calibration flight at 9am.  Duncan is the first of our pilots up at 9.51am.  It was then back to our hotel for dinner and an early night in preparation for tomorrow.
